Done, two windows showed up and I clicked yes to both, after that the game launched but it's all in japanese:

Is that normal?

That window in the image is a "select birthday window" (don't know if it's translated, date format is MM DD). If the rest is untranslated just run the translation installer "Majikoi S English Patch" (weird if so).

My intuition tells me you should check the read-write permissions of the files.

So I downloaded this and played some of the routes without trouble. However, when I began the game after finishing the latest route the spacing between letters and words was off. I thought that it was maybe the font so I tried to change it (it was currently at "staircase subs custom") but it didn't work, there was only one font. I went to the patch to see if there was a font that I needed to install but found nothing. Any idea on how to fix this?

It's in English, this site only hosts games translated to English and the name of the torrent has "- English" in it.

You download the torrent file from here, open it with a torrent program (utorrent, bittorrent etc).
Then when it's downloaded, you should have the files somewhere like My Documents or Downloads on your disk.
Extract them if they're in an archive, else copy the folder with the game files and double click the game file.
Many times you need to start the game in Japanese locale, if so, google it.

Hello. I have downloaded the torrent without issues, and extracted the same way I did for the first game. However, when I try to run the .exe file so I can go through the install process, it gives me an error and a link to a page to report a failure to install to SETTEC which, when translated, seems to imply a problem due to not having the game's original disk. I'm utterly confused as to why any disk would be needed as the first game did not need one. Any clues to why this might be occurring would be very helpful. I have the locale and everything already set, so it shouldn't be a problem with that. Thanks in advance for your reply.

Hey the text clutters even in Japanese locale. Any idea why?

Look for a font patch. I know in a lot of visual novels there's a font style that needs to be installed so the texts can show up. If not, they become jumbled and overlapped.
It seems to me like it's a font problem. Try doing a search and if it doesn't help, let me know. In most visual novels, they provide the font patch. Let me know if this helps.

After reading various comments (which would take decades to approve), I noticed a lot of people having the same or similar problem. If you are having problems with this game, please check for 2 things:

1. Please check to see if there is a font patch.

2. Make sure you are running in Japanese Locale.

If you have no font patch, then I would suggest looking online for the font style needed for this game. If you don't have a font issue, then make sure the game is running in Japanese Locale.
